Hey there! For all the newcomers, I wanted to reach out and say thank you for joining my newsletter. I send out emails 3 to 4 times a month sharing writing updates, access to chapters from the next book, and all kinds of other author-related stuff. As for a little about me... I quit my job as a pharmacy tech a couple months ago and went full time as an author. With my Bookbub Featured Deal back in January, my Podium audiobook contract, and a bunch of other things that I have going for me, I felt as if my time was better spent working on the next book rather than trading my time for an hourly wage. Plus I love writing books far more than dealing with nasty customers! I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan (don't get me started on the sequel trilogy), and I enjoy watching all kinds of sci-fi stuff, but I only read romantasy. I love Fourth Wing (I have all the first edition first prints!), all kinds of dragon riding books, fae books, and heck, even books with gryphons. I have a ton planned for the future. For starters, I'm moving to dictation for all future books, which should allow me to write far faster. I'm also planning on expanding that prequel chapter I have in my dropbox into a proper novella with its own cover, and I'll likely use that as a permanent freebie. Once Book 2 releases, I'm going to apply for another Bookbub Featured Deal. I sold 815 copies of Book 1 at 99 cents when that book only had 20 ratings on Amazon, so it'll be interesting to see how many I sell with 3x the ratings + a second book! (Got my fingers crossed about getting a second featured deal!) The Second Bond series will have five books in the series, and I have a lot of exciting things planned. Book 3 is going to start off with two battles that run concurrently. One will show the queen's fight to retake her throne, while the other will show all-out combat against Euproxis and his forces. Neither go well, forcing Kala and Soren to flee for their lives. All I'll say is that y'all are probably gonna hate me for what I have planned for Book 3's ending, BUT keep in mind that this series will have an HEA. Hey there! The first draft of An Ember Defiant is finished! There's still a lot to do, and I wanted to share my timeline and updates with you so you know what's coming. It's currently at 112.5k words (Book 1 is 111k words) and I expect it to finish around 115k to 120k words. As for my timeline from first draft to polished product, I’m thinking 4 to 8 weeks.
